Parents now search online before choosing a school, and they expect quick answers about fees, admissions and results. This guide explains what a school in Tanzania needs online – website, domain, email and hosting.

What parents look for on a school website

• Location, contact numbers and a map.
• Admission process, requirements and key dates.
• Fees structure (or how to request it).
• Curriculum, levels offered and facilities, with real photos.
• News, events, results and achievements.
• Downloadable forms such as admission forms and joining instructions.

The right domain for a school

Tanzania has dedicated domains: .sc.tz for schools and .ac.tz for colleges and universities. A .sc.tz domain is TZS 25,000 per year. Many schools also register a .co.tz or .com. See Tanzanian domain prices.

Professional email for staff

Using headteacher@yourschool.sc.tz and admissions@yourschool.sc.tz looks official, and the school keeps every address when staff change. All our hosting plans include unlimited email addresses.

Hosting that handles results day

Traffic spikes when results or admission lists are published. Choose fast NVMe hosting, keep large PDFs compressed, and consider a bigger plan such as Twiga or Tembo during peak periods.

Optional: school systems

Many schools run a management system for fees, results and attendance. These systems often need a VPS for reliable performance and data security.

Keep it secure

School sites hold information about children. Use SSL, strong passwords, regular updates and daily backups. See what to do if your website is hacked.
